Charleston, SC, is the PERFECT place for any event, party or special occasion. You're guaranteed the most beautiful backdrop to set the stage. This is part 1 of our favorite Charleston venues for a party or wedding. These are in no particular order!

The Cotton Dock at Boone Hall

I've been to many events here, and it truly is one of the most beautiful places in Charleston! After driving 3/4 mile down the Avenue Of Oaks (280-year-old giant live oaks draped with Spanish moss), you'll feel like you've stepped back in time.

Nestled in those trees on the left is the beautiful cotton dock on Horlbeck Creek. It's been the venue of choice for families, friends and celebrities for years!

Alhambra Hall

Another local favorite is the beautiful Alhambra Hall in the Old Village, Mt. Pleasant. You can take in the absolutely spectacular views of the harbor, the peninsula and James Island. It's one of my favorite places to watch a sunset, so of course, it's one of the best places for an event.

Wrapped in porches, this space boasts views almost anywhere you look. You won't go wrong if you're able to book here. But try to book it early as it stays booked.

Lowndes Grove

Located on the banks of the Ashley River, this picture-perfect location is (imagine that) one of my absolute favorite places to take in the views of our historic city. Rich in history and lasting beauty, it is one of the best places to have any event.

Event tents are perfect on the lawn if you want to have your event outside. The beautiful main house is gorgeous if you're opting for something indoors.

Legare Waring House

Moss draped oaks, manicured gardens and on the ground of the first permanent settlement, Charles Towne Landing, is the Legare Waring House. Talk about some historic Charleston roots! It's a large venue with access to indoor and outdoor areas to host an amazing event.

William Aiken House

This National Historic Landmark has beautiful gardens and courtyards, making it another fantastic venue for an outdoor event. The main home is stunning and wrapped in covered porches. You can get the best of both worlds, indoors and outside, when you host your event here.
